Global Warming

You see it everyday. In the papers, news and TV.

You heard it everyday. From the radio, the people sitting in the coffeeshop complaining about it.

You feel it everyday. From the intense heat that you are bitching about.

And yes, you complain about it everyday also!!

Yes. Global Warming. It is happening right here, right now. Actually, the problem had appeared for a long time, and only now, people (as in the general population) are getting aware of the problem.

And people/living organisms are suffering from it now.

Mean surface temperature anomalies during the period 1995 to 2004 with respect to the average temperatures from 1940 to 1980 (All datas are from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming)

Temperature has risen. Ice glaciers are melting.

And that means sea levels are rising, resulting in cities, villages being submerged in water.

Thinking about it. In the future, its not necessary to get a car driving licence. It's more important to get a boat driving licence, and there will be COE's imposed on the purchasing of boats.

Increasing global temperatures had been blamed on the greenhouse gases, typically consist of the carbon together with the oxygen. As in CO2 (carbon dioxide), CO (not Commanding Officer, but Carbon Monoxide). Why do they call it the greenhouse gases? I got no idea.

Recent increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2). The monthly CO2 measurements display small seasonal oscillations in an overall yearly uptrend; each year's maximum is reached during the northern hemisphere's late spring, and declines during the northern hemisphere growing season as plants remove some CO2 from the atmosphere

All living organisms needs oxygen for respiration, and gives out CO2. Plants will recycle the CO2 back to Oxygen in the process of photosynthesis. So, one can come to a conclusion that plants are very important in curbing the global warming issue.

So, start planting more plants now.

If we did not start doing anything now, what will happen to the future?

The geographic distribution of surface warming during the 21st century calculated by the HadCM3 climate model if a business as usual scenario is assumed for economic growth and greenhouse gas emissions. In this figure, the globally averaged warming corresponds to 3.0 °C (5.4 °F).

It's going to get only worst.

So, it's NATO time.

(NATO in this case IS NOT No Action, Talk Only, but it IS NOW ACT, TALK'S OVER. Quote taken from Saizan).
