7-11 has been offering the doraemon magnets for purchase of items over $5. Its a collector's item, with 41 different magnets of doraemon in different countries. The last 6 is the Singapore special edition, which is only avaliable at one 7-11 store from the 30th March onwards.
The craze is picking up. One big fan of doraemon is ZX. He is collecting the magnets, and as now, besides the 6 special edition, of of 35 countries, he had filled up 33 countries, with the help of AF. He needs China and USA, the 2 giants of East and West respectively.
There are still others books to be filled.
Now is the period of buying H2O isotonic drinks, will enable you to get a doraemon magnet, and you can go to AF's and ZX's house, you will be amazed by the amount of H2O that they have bought.
But i must admit, that magnet is a lot more nicer than the Hello Kitty magnets that was the craze a couple of years back. Cold Storage is good to have though of this marketing gimmick. A lot of ppl do collect the magnets, be it doraemon, hello kitty etc. Sales have certainly picked up.
