Let me talk about yawning...
Why this topic when all of us did it almost everyday? Especially during work and school, during busy and relax times, when you are anywhere, in the bus, train, home and even the toilet?
My light bulb was switched on suddenly yesterday nite, as i was yawning...
It has been proven that yawning is contagious. Don't you think so? When people around you yawn, you also yawn, either consciously or subconsciously, either you fake it or not.
So, what's the cause of yawning?
There are some surprise findings...
From this website, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yawn, Causes of yawning are:
1) A means of cooling the brain.
2) An action used as an unconscious communication of psychological decompression after a state of high alert.
3) An excess of carbon dioxide and lack of oxygen in the blood.
4) A way of displaying (or indicative of) apathy.
5) Tiredness.
6) A means of equalizing inner ear pressure, which can be triggered by another's yawning
Har?? Cooling the brain??
Hur Hur Hur??
Excessive yawning has been associated with several medical conditions and may be considered as a medical sign for some diseases. These conditions include:
Multiple sclerosis
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
Migraine headache (rare)
Radiation poisoning, including radiation therapy
Hur?? Hur?? Hur?? Hur?? HUR???
Totally chimology for me...
But all i know is that yawning is contagious, even can be transmitted through wireless mobile phone (GSM) network.
I started yawning when the other person yawned... And we were chatting with each other on mobile phones...
And just now, i realised another thing... I am yawning when i am blogging about yawning!!!
So, perhaps, you had already started yawning??
