Odd gifts to US President

I always have a problem of buying gifts.

Nope... if i wanted to buy a gift to myself, there's absoluting no problem, coz i always know what i wanted.

If it's buying gift for others, i would have spend dunno how many days, weeks, months, years, centuries, cracking my whole body, using up all my brain juice, my muscle, my tendons, my ligaments, my bones, and i will still have no idea what to buy.

And especially when you want to give a gift that gives a hint.

That, is a killer. A real killer.

But then, i realised that our leader does not have the same problem as me. Our country's leaders gifts to other countries leader are always special, something that other countries's leader does not do that.

Nope, i am not kidding.

Read this:

===============================================
Gifts to U.S. officials include jewels, pillows, Abs Exerciser
December 24, 2008 -- Updated 1835 GMT (0235 HKT)
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/23/international.gifts/index.html

The gifts range from the extravagant -- like the jewelry -- to the modest -- a $6 assortment of nuts and dried fruit given by the Dalai Lama to Laura Bush -- to the downright odd, like the Abs Exerciser given to President Bush by the prime minister of Singapore.
===============================================

So, is that a hint of something to US President Bush?

Hmmm... i shall not speculate, but to let you guess...

So, please don't find me funny if i give you any odd gifts.

New year is coming

Chirstmas is gone... New year is coming...

So, what's my new year's resolution??

Guess??

Let it snow

The song below brings back memories, when i would like to tease GK with this song. He's so sick and tired of this song...

Yep... How did i spend the Christmas countdown and Christmas day??

I spend the countdown sitting alone, at ZX's void deck, waiting for him and the others to arrive.

And throughout the whole day, till now, i been at home, slacking, doing nothing, surfing net, update blogs, listen to christmas songs, while still trying to get the chirstmas mood...

Hahaha...

Okie.... back to listening...

LAY EGG HAPPY!!!

Nope... Did not see Santa yesterday night, nor his sleigh nor his reindeer...

Woke up today, first thing is to look under my bed to see what my presents are. And sad to say, none.

Went downstairs to see under the trees, if there are any wrapped presents with my name (i don't have a christmas tree at home), and the only things that i can find are bird shit.

Haiz~~ no presents for me... Sad... That means i have been a bad boy again this year...

But wait!!! Remember that i had bought a christmas present for myself??

HO HO HO!!!

I got a present!!!

Wanna know what it is???

If no one buys me present, i still can buy one for myself!!! wahahhaha

or rather...

HO HO HO!!!

Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year!!!

Lay Egg Happy!!!

Just bladdering

I guess, i am not going to sleep early tonight.

I want to stand by my camera, to try to take a snapshot of Santa and his reindeer, and his sleigh when he comes over Singapore to distribute the gifts.

I did not catch him last year...

Am going to try again this year...

Wish me luck...

Got that tiny weeny bit of christmas mood now, by watching the movies and cartoons... And listening to the radio...

Fictitious news

This post is totally a fictitious and totally imaginative creativity from the S.O's mind, after reading reports from the following CNA website,

Singapore Flyer to remain closed pending investigations
By Imelda Saad/Pearl Forss, Channel NewsAsia Posted: 23 December 2008 1843 hrs

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/398149/1/.html

================================================

Singapore flyer stopped flying...

Ever since it has opened for 10 months, Singapore flyer has been grounded for 3 times. (Read the CNA news report), with the latest being yesterday evening, with 173 trapped for 6 hours.

This S.O reported, who is typing out this report with the information from other news reports, is absoluting reeling from the latest technical glitches.

"Why is there still technical glitches?" exclaimed one fictitious tourist from wherever... "I supposed that Singapore standards are very high, but due to this glitches, well, it seems it's lower than your flyer!!""

"Your flyer has make me miss my christmas with my family!!" exclaim another fictitious tourist, who can only see her flight flying away while she's still in the flyer.

"I had heard of high flyers in Singapore, but this incidence proves that high flyers can also henta kaki." another fictitious tourist from Malaysia.

Another fictitious tourist was mentioning about if the flyer is still struck, maybe he has a good chance to catch Santa in his sleigh, flying in the skies, and with a bit of luck, maybe Santa would come to their rescue.

Meanwhile, a group of Singapore are doing what they like to do best. Complaining.

"It's not fair!! i paid 30 bucks, mind you, 30 bucks for a 30 minute ride, to get a view of the city. i was at the absoluting top of the flyer for about 10 minutes only, but the ang mor 15 capsules behind me got a whooping 6 hours view of the city!!! All for the same price!!" a fictitious Singaporean complained.

Another fictitious Singaporen chipped in..." you are better than me... I had already paid the price, and have yet to step into any of the capsule."

After the resuce operations, the next dilemma unfolds. The car park was jam packed with cars trying to leave the car park, but were unable to do so, due to the exceptionally high parking charges that had incurred in the 6 hours and not enough money in the cash card.

"Wah Piangz... I have to wait 6 hours to leave the capsule, don't tell me i have to wait another 6 hours to leave the carpark?" one fictitious driver lamated.

In another unrelated news, 4D center announced that the number 1736 was completely sold out.

Lift Etiqutte

It has occured to me that there's some people who can't make up their mind whether to go up or to go down.

They go to the lift lobby from their house, and press both, the up and down buttons.

So what happens?? The lift stops on the way up, they enter, and the lift goes all the way up, and down down again, stopping at the same level where they had pressed 2 buttons.

I know the typical "kiasu-ness" of Singaporeans, but pressing both the up and down buttons in fact, waste more time then pressing the down button and wait for the lift, right??

I think the Town Council must conduct a "lift Etiquette" course for those aunties, or even those uncles for that matter.

My advise to those "aunties and uncles". If you really want to go down faster, Jump. It's the fastest.

Emoing over the end of year

Dunno why, but i feel kinda emoing??

It's already the 22nd Dec, and i still don't have the christmas mood.

Even though i got a fantestic Christmas and New year gift for myself... In fact, i sort of feels empty, like piece of leaf that goes in the direction where the wind is blowing... drifting around aimlessly.

There's nothing to look forward to, right now, at this time...

And the feeling sucks. Suddenly, life, which seems so vibrant, so colourful some time ago, is so monotonous, so monotone, and monocolour.

It really sucks.

2008 is coming to a close, and while everyone is excited, i am actually brooding over it.

Another year has passed. Another year of non-achievement by me. I am still the same, neither going up nor down.

Another year wasted.

Another year closer to my death...

Another year which i did absoluting nothing worth remembering.

Another year is coming.

Another year....

Feels like drinking beer now... anyone wants join me??

BP WLNY Christmas BBQ 2008

Had a full and busy day yesterday (Sat).

Woke up at 0600 hours, went to SK to pick CT and his friend, went down to FTPS. For the Zone Insp and NCOC POP 2008.

Zone Inspection and POP took up the whole morning till 1300 hours when i really had to leave. To go home, rest a while and went for my RT (IPPT test) in the afternoon.

And there's a event going on at my void deck. Noisy, till i left home early and went to camp super early, stunning the guard 2IC. I mean, RT starts at 1600 and i was there from 1430 hours.

Nothing much about the test, except that i was the first in line, and i failed, meaning, Welcome to phase 2!!

Went back home, rest a bit till everyone starts calling me, asking me where the hell i was, and asking my help to drive this and that.

Yep. The WLNY BP Christmas BBQ party. Organised by auntie E, ZX, AM and SH. Me?? i was the "arrowed" driver for this occasion. To bring all the food, drinks, charcoal, utensils down to the assigned place, and it was a super last minute arrow.

Here's the photos taken at the BBQ party.

At the BBQ pit.

Our "master chef" for the night, AM!!! He cook most of the duration of the party. Thanks to him, we got endless supply of cooked food without lifting a finger!!

Our "Assistant Chief".

Our "Food Preparer".

While the rest of us simply enjoy the evening, waiting for the food to arrive...

Me?? Of course, i am the photographer...

Delicious food being cooked.

Okie lah... others got take turn cooking the food, before they slammed this post.

Group photos...

Not in the photos, HT and CN...

Some more photos...

What are they looking at?? hmmm...

Our Master Chef turned photographer...

Post camp fatigue syndrome

Am still trying to recover from

1) Post NCOC camp fatigue syndrome.

Seems like no matter how much i sleep, i am still infected by the ZZZ bug. It does not help especially when there's so much things to do at the office, and on top of everything, RT. Not to mentioned the excitment of the camp also... Haiz~~

2) Pre Zone Insp Busy Mental Disorder.

Hope it can get cured by sat.

Shoes Flew Bush

Back from an super interesting NCO Course Camp, which is packed with excitment non stop.

And i reach back home, tired, slept and woke up to an interesting news.

Iraqi journalist hurls shoes at Bush
Posted: 15 December 2008 0242 hrs
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_world/view/396335/1/.html

BAGHDAD: An Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes and an insult at George W. Bush, without hitting him, as the US president was shaking hands with the Iraqi premier at his Baghdad office on Sunday.

As the two leaders met in Nuri al-Maliki's private office, a journalist sitting in the third row jumped up, shouting: "It is the farewell kiss, you dog," and threw his shoes one after the other towards Bush.

=============================================

Wow... and i had come out with a poem about it.

Into Iraq, a visiting Bush
a journalist, to give others a boost,
shouted and took off his shoes,
towards Bush, the flying shoes flew.

Into the ground the journalist was pushed,
And gave the late night comics a viewship boost
Wondering when the next pair shoes,
Towards Bush the flying shoes flew.

Thank god, Bush ducked
Otherwise journalist will get f**ked
But it's just old plain luck
that the shoes missed and it sucks.

And after that incident, the ever popular tougue twister, will be changed.

From:
"She sells sea shell at the sea shore, the shells she sell are sea shore shells."

To:
"He threw his shoes at Bush. The shoes he threw flew pass Bush."

Enjoying RT

Started to realised one thing...

I am starting to enjoy my RT for this session.

We are a brunch of incredible jokers, which make the whole RT more enjoyable than my last few sessions for a few years back. We suan the PTIs with jokes that would have cause multiple blacklists or even "deaths" if the same thing was used on the PTIs during our BMT.

It was really enjoyable to be the the crazy brunch of people.

And i don't really feel sian when going for RT.. Perhaps the only sian part is the going through the guard room process.

Hope that can continues.

Stand Chart Marathon 2008

Standard Chart marathon 2008.

Here's the photos... Enjoy!!

The last few runners of the half marathon. If i am running in the half marathon, i guess, at that time, i am still struggling at shenton way.

The first aiders plus the ambulance crew from SJAB and Lentor.

Runners of the half marathon against the city skyline...

A first aid team without any "business" yet.

Sitting on the ECP!!! how often can you do that??

Same goes for standing in the middle of the ECP!!!

And the runners, when they come, in the beginning, only comes in twos, threes... and when suddenly the whole pool of runners will come... in swarms.... almost a non-stop stream of blue "water" came rushing pass us, going uphill direction...

And the funny thing is that, the 10 kilometers run is divided into 2 starting times. The male and the female. And i do see a lot more males starting together with the females. Hmmm... so, those guys, are they there to run 10 clicks or what?? Hmmm.. food for thought.

And there's once i spotted a red hat...

Nope.. he's ain't a Commando.

A santa to be?? Where's his reindeer?? poor santa...

And during the running process, i spotted another hugh group in yellow walking in the opposite direction, as opposed to the steady blue stream of runners. It was a steady yellow stream of walkers!!!

Photos from my mobile

Alright.. here's the photos which had accumlated in my mobile...

Starting from the earliest photo...

Me and ZX at a conferance meeting at suntec.

This is what we do sometimes when we have absoluting nothing to do at ZX's void deck.

And this is what i do sometimes when i have absoluting nothing to do, and went crazy at ZX's void deck...

And this is what i do sometimes when i have absoluting nothing to do, and went crazier at ZX's void deck...

Me, EC and GL, on a lorry, carrying a fridge. Macham like construction workers, at little india somemore...

During the short visit to the goat farm... Goat eats grass!! And when goat eats grass, strawberry appear!!!

Mehhhhhhhh!!!

Goat sharping it's horns... To be more horny, perhaps?? :P

Look at the picture above closely... Noticed anything wrong with the drawings??

And last night, i was at VN's house with ZX... And we went wild... How so?? see below...

First, it was this...

Then it was this...

Pain, you know?? hahaha

Busy

Been extremely busy these few days... NCOC, Duties, RT...

Went for a back and foot massage on sunday. Back hurts after massage.

And foot massage isn't as painful as what other ppl say...

Good experience, i must say. Hopefully, can upload some photos tomorrow taken over the past few days...

Past, Present and Future

A thought came to my mind... On the past, present and future...

On how the Singapore society has changed.

Past:
Mothers stay at home to look after kids. Father is the sole breadwinner. Grandparents enjoy life.

Present:
Both parents have to work to earn money. Kids sent to grandparents to be taken care of.

Future:
With the present rate of inflation, housing loans, car loans and raising the retirement age, withdrawal limits, Grandparents and parents need to work to earn money. Kids will be sent to be cared for my child care centers.

Moral of the story?

Childcare center will be a profitable business in the future.
