Course and birthday celebration

A tiring saturday...

I mean, i slept late on Friday night, after having a great time at the SCS monthly meet up...

And morever, my sleep was disturbed with dreams, 4 to be exact, that was kinda disturbing... Bad stuffs that happened to me in my dreams, not to the extend of me classifying them as "nightmares"...

Anyway, when your time's up, your time's up, nothing to worry about...

Went to HQ for AED course...

It's fun...

Especially during our break time, when we unveiled Sars conspiracy...

A birthday cake... hmmm... whose birthday is it??

Nope.. not him... anyway, he's not one year old...

Yep... it's him... ES...

Presenting the cake to ES.... FYI, ES ain't one year old either...

The cake, ES and his beloved, YR...

Hope the next cake ES cut will be the wedding cake...

Making a wish...

Blowing out the candle...

Cutting the cake...

A group photo of the trainees, that celebrates ES's birthday, which is tomorrow!!!

Of course, not forgetting our very own trademark, copyrighted...
Zone 3, prob the best zone in the world!!

Leisure time during tea break...

Thank you hug from the birthday boy to the "mastermind"...

A snap candid shot of 2 person having some discussion. I don't know what they are discussing, but from the serious, no bullshit looks of their faces, it might as well be this...

And soon, it's clearing up time and back to the course for our exams, theory and practical...

And on our way back, in the twilight dusk, managed to get this couple of pictures of the beautiful dusk... too late to capture the sun, though...

That's how my sat goes... Am damm tired now... gd nite peeps!!

Interesting picture

Saw a funny picture depicting the general living condition in Singapore... Things that you have to live with, despite being so annoying, being despised of by the general population, and even the fact that it had cause countless injuries somemore...

It's still there, growing at an ever alarming rate...

Jokes about them are circulating non stop, even songs about them have appeared...

Know what's those??

Dunno?? look at the picture below, and try to spot something that is ever so familiar on the Singapore roads...

No more trips to Malaysia

Bad news for me and other motorists in Singapore and Thailand...

Reports: Malaysia to ban foreigners from filling up gasoline near border
http://malaysia.news.yahoo.com/ap/20080527/tap-as-gen-malaysia-fuel-ban-b3c65ae.html

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Malaysia will ban people in foreign-registered vehicles from buying the country's heavily subsidized fuel at gasoline stations near the border with Thailand and Singapore, news reports said Tuesday.

"This move is temporary until we come up with better management of our subsidy system," The Star daily quoted him as saying.

Shahrir said the ban could take effect as early as Friday at up to 300 petrol stations within 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the borders with Thailand and Singapore.

There goes my weekly trips to Malaysia...

Exercise Northstar 2008

Exercise Northstar last friday, 23rd May 2008

Cruise disaster...

First time being in the exercise... Of course, was pretty excited...

Morning went to HQ early to touch up on our ambulances,

Prepare our equipments,

Just waiting for the activation, which we coded, "Irene" (from the movie, Black Hawk Down).

As as it's time to relax, Irene was activated...

Load up equipment,

Gather for the briefing...

And off we go!!!

To TMFT.

I say we were a bit "impressive" for a 4 ambulance convoy, with our beacon lamps on and our sierns wailing... sure turned a bit of heads on our journey there...

But the location were more impressive, given the amount of personnel, logistic and vehicles there...

And so we wait... for the casualties to arrive from the scene of "disaster"... I at that time, really wish to see the rescue process happening out in the sea, but, there's no way for us to know the situation, except to wait for the casualties to arrive...

And wait we did...

And we wait somemore...

Waited so long that i even got time to go to the toilet in the ferry terminal and notice a condom vending machinre in the male toilet!!!

Prob targetted at the DOM going to Batam for their tyrst...

And we wait... even the casulties started slowly tickle out...

waited in queue for our turn...

And we wait... and wait... and wait... eagerly to be part of the action... engine on, gloves on, waiting anxiously...

till lunch arrive... and we eat.. and wait..

till lunch over, and still, we wait...

till this happened...

Yep... back in HQ...

without our turn of doing evacuation!!

Yes!! would you believe it?? we waited anxiously for a piece of action, so are the other ambulances, but the supply of ambulances was far more than the demand!!

So, we had waited in vain... and darn the bloody hot weather somemore!!

Well, at least we are part of the Northstar Exercise, that's the sole consolation for me...

Nevermind.. i shall wait for the next Northstar...

Noto enough sleep?

Thursday night, before Ex Northstar = Unable to sleep

Friday Night, before NDP rehersal = Unable to sleep again...

Sat night, went out with the usual group of SJ friends, = Reach home late...

results in??

Spending the whole sunday sleeping... Slept for more than 24 hours!! Amazing!!

Kid's memory

Never ever underestimate a kid's memory...

Went to meet up with my ex-neighbour for a dinner, with his kids. After dinner, i drove my ride to his house while the rest walked back.

One of his kids accompany me, a bright looking 4 - 5 year old kid, and i decided to play a small trick on him...

I took him to the carpark where i had parked my ride, and told him... " oh no... i had forgotten where i had parked my car... Can you find it for me?"

And so, we were standing at the side of the carpark, with his eyes scanning the cars parked there. My ride was actually "hidden" from our view by a lorry.

He commented..." your car is dark blue one leh... i cannot see the colour clearly... (it was at night)"

Then he started pointing to one of the car and led me the way towards it...

"there... your car is there..." he informed me...

I looked at the car we were heading towards and was a bit shocked... I asked him the next question...

"How you recognise my car?"

He pointed to the logo...

I was shocked. He was leading me to a suzuki car, and my ride is a suzuki... He recognised the suzuki logo.

Good memory, even though he was leading me to the wrong car...

I mean, he rode in my car for less than 10 times, being the last time more than a month ago... AND HE CAN RECOGNISE THE LOGO OF MY RIDE, never mind the colour!!!

Moral of the story...
Kids can remember things... How you and your kids have a good relationships depends on that knowledge. Up to you to list the examples...

Bored people did such things

Indeed.... Interesting... to know that there's always kinda "bo liao" people around the world, who will spend time coming to any conclusion on anything, especially disasters, be it natural of man-made...

Take for example: The USA 911 plane crash on WTC and the Pentagon (got this via E mail)

Yeah... some super bo liao people folded a US 20 dollar bill, and got these...

And now, the recent China Earthquake... Some super bo liao people did some calculations and guess what?

Quoted "Superstitious Chinese have looked for cosmic explanations for the earthquake, the country's deadliest natural disaster in three decades.

Many noted that the earthquake occurred exactly 88 days before the Beijing Olympics, which opens on August 8 -- 8/8/8 -- at 8:08 pm, in line with Chinese numerology which considers eight a lucky number.

Speculation was heightened on Sunday when China's seismological authority revised up the magnitude of the May 12 earthquake to 8.0 on the Richter scale."

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_asiapacific/view/348888/1/.html

Super bo liao rite?? like me, who post this on my blog...

But, indeed, it's interesting...

Well, if only those bo liao ppl can come out with these things before disaster strucks....

Rap of my day

Early sunday morning came,
everyone's sleeping when i ain't,
awaken by some unknown force,
went to HQ in my SX 4...

To Macpherson CC off we go,
support a duty was our goal,
in an alpha that Sars drove
and brakes that make me go "woah"...

It was a darn hot day
all thanks to the sun's ray
VIP was Lim Boon Heng,
No one fainted, that's very heng...

Most of them were elderly
and yet they were so actively
dancing on the stage happily
audience were clapping cheerfully...

With my camera, i snapped away,
at the old folks dancing away,
Sars and V were grinning away,
as they capture the scene at bay...

In the conference room where we rest,
Members pose for photos with much zest,
With air cons blasting at their best,
and V singing that's lagi "best"...

Some were reading their paperback,
while others are taking a short nap,
and the radio blasting some rap,
i was thinking, "what the heck!!"

So that is how my day is spent,
off to this boring duty we went,
in a vehicle that looks like a big van,
with a side door that needs to slam!!
