It's something that i dream of doing for a living, but sad to say, i don't think i can make a living out of doing it for my job... I can do that during my job, but i don't think my boss will be happy...

Haiz~~~ must wake up to reality again... (slaps myself)

Is it too early to start planning for leaves and MCs for 2009??

Perhaps not... Start planning, peeps!!!

Hopefully we can have public holidays for the Youth Olympics for 2010...

thoughts

==============================================
Short talk:

Singapore won the bid to host the Youth Olympics. Good or bad? Depends on how you see it...

The question i wanna ask is " Will there be a public holiday??" The games are from Aug 14 - 16... 3 days only... Come on, give us some extra holidays...
==============================================

Got lots things on my mind now...

Ain't in the best of mood... damm... need to keep myself busy, to prevent too much thoughts flooding my mind...

But somehow, somewhere, something always come back. Days are getting harder to pass... And at this time somemore!!

Had quite a nice time at HQ with a group of people, makes me forget about my thoughts. Had a nice meal with lots laugher at Pizzahut, at the expense of the poor waitress behind the counter. Don't ask me what happened there.. you can ask those who are present... You can say i bully people, but at least, that makes me forget about things for a moment.

But it came back... Needs more distractions now. I need to be kept busy at all times. So, anyone, any lobangs? Hopefully can make some money out of it.. That would sound nice.

Sometimes, i wish i can become cold, distant and aloof and keep to myself but it seems that it's quite a difficult task to accomplish. Indeed, it's difficult.

Hope i can fall asleep the moment i lie on my bed when i reach home later, depending on what time i want to go home.

And now, am anxiously waiting... Shit...

Dunno if it's a good or bad start...

Best of 3 worlds

The 3 sentences really reflect the true facts of life... It's sad, but it's true!!

1) if u want fast and cheap, its not going to be good
2) if u want cheap and good, its not going to be fast
3) if u want good and fast, its not going to be cheap...

Haiz~~~ when will i ever get the best of all the worlds??

Low chances...

Prob when i need a walking stick....

Prob when i am about to die...

Prob never...

Wait...(Slaps myself) Wrong... How can i have so negative thoughts? Cannot like that lah... Must be more positive leh... (Slaps myself)

IT'S DEFINITY NEVER!!!

You can be positive, but then, you must be realistic too!!!

Yawning

Let me talk about yawning...

Why this topic when all of us did it almost everyday? Especially during work and school, during busy and relax times, when you are anywhere, in the bus, train, home and even the toilet?

My light bulb was switched on suddenly yesterday nite, as i was yawning...

It has been proven that yawning is contagious. Don't you think so? When people around you yawn, you also yawn, either consciously or subconsciously, either you fake it or not.

So, what's the cause of yawning?

There are some surprise findings...
From this website, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yawn, Causes of yawning are:
1) A means of cooling the brain.
2) An action used as an unconscious communication of psychological decompression after a state of high alert.
3) An excess of carbon dioxide and lack of oxygen in the blood.
4) A way of displaying (or indicative of) apathy.
5) Tiredness.
6) A means of equalizing inner ear pressure, which can be triggered by another's yawning

Har?? Cooling the brain??

Hur Hur Hur??

Excessive yawning has been associated with several medical conditions and may be considered as a medical sign for some diseases. These conditions include:
Multiple sclerosis
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
Migraine headache (rare)
Radiation poisoning, including radiation therapy

Hur?? Hur?? Hur?? Hur?? HUR???

Totally chimology for me...

But all i know is that yawning is contagious, even can be transmitted through wireless mobile phone (GSM) network.

I started yawning when the other person yawned... And we were chatting with each other on mobile phones...

And just now, i realised another thing... I am yawning when i am blogging about yawning!!!

So, perhaps, you had already started yawning??

Siong weekend

What a super duper busy and tiring weekend!!!

4 duties and 1 event over a 3 day period, with the last 3 duties over a 24 hour span, with me getting only about 3 hours sleep in that 24 hour period...

First is the First aid lesson conducted at SAC.

Main lecturer is Sars... And the rest of us are sitting behind...

while ET is trying to serve us food.. haha

Left halfway with VKP. For the first duty. Chingay rehersal.

Was stationed very near one of the newest attraction in Singapore!! The Singapore Flyer!!

Unfortunately, that newest attraction has a very private function at that time, and me and vkp was denied entry to the premises to have a better picture.

And unfortunately, that place we are at is the most isolated, out-of-place point in the whole chingay parade... The dispersal point. We cannot see the parade at all!! Not even the pyro works!

All we can see is the participants rushing to their buses, and going back to wherever they come from.

One main highlight of it was seeing the MPSS ppl, where there's couple of familiar faces, Vanny, KC, JR, Nic and the rest. But even then, they are in a rush to go back too...

And there's a case, whereby our vehicle has to chiong all the way into the parade to pick up a case. Thanks to Cisco officers who opened up a lane for us to bash through the performers.

Went back home pretty late (0230), having make 2 wrong turns to vkp's house. Ended up making one super long round. And me took the zone room keys home by mistake instead of taking my house keys. Had to wake up my dad to open the door for me, coz i knew that i will certainly collaspe if i have to make the 5 minute walk to my car to get the keys.

Sat morning. 0700.

Woke up by my dad, coz he is going to his association to help out in the lion dance activities. I had promised to drive him down.

My dad took one look at me and commented that he going down alone, by bus. I almost went back to sleep when he knocked on my door again, and mentioned that i have to get the key from my car, since the rest of my family is going out, and i will be locked in.

I thought about it, and took his advice, managed to get out of bed. This is certainly one example of my body not listening to my brain. My brain is screaming "GO BACK TO BED!!!" but i was outside, walking with my dad.

My brain finally quieten down, and i was thinking... Hell... since i am going to my car, might as well drive my dad down... So we go.

Went back home at around 0900, and got a few more moments of sleep, till afternoon, where i dragged myself back to HQ for Chingay duty.

One of the floats, taken during the chingay rehersal...

There was a group of vintage cars that came, suppose for the chingay. Then, another group of Harley Davidson motorcycles came...

What's next? I was thinking... The answer came soon after...

..... speechless.....

Oh yah, the road was closed. So we posed in the middle of the road!!!

Ambulance team...

Met my buddy, ZX's father there... Deployed at the same area as him for 2 years...

Same life as yesterday. Boring... Slacking at our ambulance...

Chatting...

Driving...

Playing games...

Sleeping...

And saw the MPSS people there again.

They are super high... and so are the other participants, which was the end... It's like that... Trainings, practising, just for this day, and when it's finished, everyone is very high.

Suddenly i thought back to similar moments in NDP marching contingent in 2003, and AGI Guard of honor contingent in 2002. The highness of the members...

And the skies are cloudy, but there's a couple of stars (or something else?) that can be seen through the clouds, and the interesting thing is that they are in line with the moon!!!

Okie, it's blur, coz it's dark, the exposure time was long, and i do not have a tripod, and and hand is shaking...

3 cases, all at the ending... Dun wanna talk about it. Pissed of by 2 ppl there...

YJ, YN and their FTP ppl turned up... Happy to see them...

I shall stop here. Will blog about the other 2 duties (does not have photos) the next time...

Valentine's day

Happy Valentine's day to all!!!

If you have a date, then it's valentine's day for you. Good for you. Enjoy the date!!

If you are copying me, being without a date, then, why not? It's friendship day also... Jio your friends out for a date!!

Me? Haha.. I might have a date to one of the romantic place later in the evening... Haha... the place is around Padang, Esplanade and perhaps, the Marina Bay area and if time permits, East Coast Park. See, i got it all planned out swee swee liao...

To those who know me... Shocked?? Stunned?? Envy??

Nope... dun be shocked, stunned and envy me. I might be going out for a darned recee. Friday is afterall, Chingay rehersal, Sat is the Chingay and Sunday morning is the NUS Biathlon at East Coast Park.

Ah... Get the point liao? No dates with pretty young skirts for me... :(

So, what's the big hoohaa behind Valentine's day? What's the history of Valentine's day?

Dunno? You all are celebrating Valentine's day and you DUNNO how Valentine's day come?!?!

Okie... I must admit.. I also dunno, but hey, I never celebrate Valentine's day before...

From various internet sources, Valentine's day is in honor of a saint, St Valentine.
http://www.history.com/minisites/valentine/viewPage?pageId=882

"One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.
"

Got it? Now, spread the stories to your loved ones, and bored them to slumber...

Business plan... Go sell roses, chocolates, heart-shaped cards.

Car number come out

CRAB POT!!!!

HOLY SHIT!!!

My car number tio 4D FIRST PRIZE TODAY!!!! 9124

Too bad.. Those who know me know that i dun buy 4D one... So, there goes your treat!!!

Hahaha...

Heart pain? Not really lah... When the luck and fortune is not yours, no matter how hard you try to chase, also no use...

History of 9124...

Open 3 times since i bought my car... twice in consolation prizes on 19/12/2007 and 06/02/2008...

And today, it strike 1st prize!!!

Crab Pot

See if you dare to do this...

Walk into a Japanese restaurant, and get a seat. Wait for the waitress to come to get your order.

And after she comes, tell her you wanna a "Kani Nabe" in a loud voice.

Yes.. the magic word is "KANI NABE"

And don't worry. Nothing will happen to you one... But in the event someone whack you up, that's your problem, not mine.

Anyway, if you know absoluting nothing about what's i am talking about, and you wanna know what the hell's is that, walk up to any guy standing in Geylang on sat night, stare at him straight in the face, and shout "Kani Nabe" in his face.

I gurantee you a few night's stay in the nearest hospital, or if you are lucky, you might even be sleeping alone in a small room, forever...

Yep. In Hokkien, that's a vagular language, but in Japanese, it's not. In Japanese, it's means "Crab Pot".

Kani = Crab.
Nabe = Pot.

So, you want crab served in a pot, tell the Japanese waitress, not the Hokkien waitress, "KANI NABE!!"

Anyway, in this modern world, where vagularies are being frowned upon, a world where gracious and manners counts, you can use it the other way round...

Like in these few cases below...

Perhaps, this also...

Imagine... the whole world would be better if everyone uses less vagular language, rite?? Just like the case below...

Well, ain't it sounds better??

Or even something bad happens to you... Instead of "Kani Nabe" from your mouth, something delicious come out...

Slurp!!

Or even the bleddy worst thing that can happen to you, especially you are in a rush...

Wouldn't your mind wander off to think about the delicious crab and forget about the bad things?

Hmmm...

CRAB POT!!! All these Crabs are making me hungry... Chilli Crab tonight, anyone??

Just another post

Yes.. back to work... yesterday...

Did i mentioned that i only work for maybe like only 2 days in these 3 weeks? And now, the in camp's over, the holidays over, and life is back to normal.

Just that i need time to go back to normal life. To wake up, go work, go home, meet friends if they are free, or back home staring at the ceiling...

And soon after play, comes hard work...

There's going to have 4 duties in 3 days. Chingay rehersal, Chingay, NUS biathlon and Yuan Xiao@Chinatown, on friday, sat, sun morning and sun night respectively. And there's going to have a 24 hour continuous duty, from sat night to sunday night.

Got the inspiration for 4D? 2343... Go buy, and if you strike and you are honest enough, just give me a treat, that's all. But don't come after me with a parang when you don't strike.

Am dunno if i am looking forward to the duties or not. All i know is that it's going to be goddamm bloody siong time for me and the rest.

Oh yah. A gentle reminder to all forgetful ppl out there. Valentine's day is this thursday. Remember to buy come gifts for your boy/girl friends, bring them out.

Okie... am just bladdering... But this is going to be a miserable week for me. My mind is still in holidaying mood, not CNY mood, Just holiday as in no work mood, weighted down with the thoughts that i am not going out on thus, don't want to see couples pak-tor-ing, and burdened with another fact that i've got 4 duties in 3 days.

Sometimes, i just wish that i can lie down, my mind empty of thoughts, heck care with all the thoughts, feelings of this bleddy world, just relaxing...
