I wonder if you ever noticed... There seems to have much more world records broken in the Olympic Games, and new history set in the world of Olympics

Olympics: China's Liu sets world record in 200m butterfly win

Liu clocked two minutes 04.18 seconds to smash Australian world champion Jessicah Schipper's world record by 1.22sec to capture gold. She beat home teammate Jiao Liuyang, who claimed the silver medal in 2:04.72, also under the previous world record time.

Wow!! First and second place break world records!!

The Australians set a blistering pace to hit the wall in seven minutes 44.31 seconds and wipe 5.78secs off the record of 7:50.09 held by the United States at last year's world championships in Melbourne. China took the silver medal in 7:45.93 ahead of the United States in 7:46.33.

This is is worst... All the top 3 team broke the world records!!

BEIJING: Australian Eamon Sullivan and French rival Alain Bernard swapped world records in a phenomenal showdown for sprinting supremacy in the Beijing Olympics 100 metres freestyle semi-finals on Wednesday.

Bernard triggered the sensational exchange when he broke Sullivan's world record of 47.24 seconds set in the lead-off swim of Monday's 4x100m freestyle relay final by four-hundredths of a second in 47.20.

Sullivan's reply was bold and immediate slicing a further 0.15 seconds off Bernard's minutes-old record to reduce the world mark to an incredible 47.05 seconds

Wah... 2 records broken for the same event!! Amazing!!

Olympics: Phelps becomes greatest Olympian in history

BEIJING: Michael Phelps became the greatest Olympian in history Wednesday, capturing the 10th and 11th gold medals of his Games career in world record-setting style.

Phelps moved to the summit of Olympic achievement with his triumph in the men's 200m butterfly.

His time of 1min 52.03 seconds shaved six-hundredths of a second off the world mark of 1:52.09 he set in winning the world title in Melbourne last year.

It was his fourth gold medal and fourth world record in Beijing's Water Cube, to go with six golds won in Athens four years ago.

An hour later he returned to lead the United States to victory in the 4x200m freestyle relay in 6:58.56 - crushing the previous world mark of 7:03.24 set by a US squad at the world championships in Melbourne last year.

BEIJING: World champion Chen Xiexia of China on Saturday set two new Olympic records for the women's weightlifting 48kg class by lifting 117kg in the clean and jerk on the way to a total winning lift of 212kg on Saturday.
