IF YOU see someone eating alone, what comes to mind?

'I'll be wondering why he's eating alone. My god, you're a loner, that's what I think,' said student Alfred Chua, who finds eating alone a daunting and stressful experience.

As such, he avoids eating alone in public if he can help it.

'It's a cultural thing, especially among Singaporeans, it's normal to dine with friends and chit-chat, so when they see people eating alone, they perceive them as being a loser,' said Dr Adrian Wang, a psychologist.

Is there really a stigma associated with eating alone?

Dr Wang offers some tips on what you can do to alleviate any feelings of embarrassment, should you find yourself asking for a table for one. Find out more on RazorTV.

All i know is since i was small, my parents has been telling me this...

You do it, you own up, and you accept any punishments that come your way.

Since i was small, i heard the story of George Washington, who chopped down his father's tree and when his father ask for the culprit, he owned up.

But to my greatest disappointment and dismay, one highly educated fellow chose to run back to his country, after an incident.

Well, if you never do it, what are you scared of? If you did it, then, own up like a man, unless, of course, you don't have anything swinging between your legs.

And for a highly educated person like you, a PhD holder, holding an important post in your goverment, you chose to scamble off at the slightest trouble, is this what your country folks always do at the slight of trouble? Pardon my ignorance, for i must confess (owned up) that i have never been to your country.

And stop your bullshitting about "set up". You accuse us of setting you up, where's the evidence? As a PhD holder, clearly you should know that any claims must be supported by evidence. No evidence, no case.

Haiz~~ (shake head)... reading on the progress of this incident, i do pity you. I wondered which university you went to, which university you got your PhD from, what you know about the definations of the word called "responsibilities" and what creditials you got to secure such an important post in your goverment, only to end up showing your true colours in this incident.

SECRETARY accidentally bit off the penis of her employer while giving him oral sex in a car.

Sin Chew Daily and China Press reported yesterday that while the 30-year-old woman was performing oral sex on the man, the car was hit by a reversing van.

The impact of the crash, China Press reported, caused the woman to bite off her lover's organ.

The daily reported that the incident occurred in a Singapore park where the couple met after work.

To make matters worse for the woman, her husband had sent a private investigator to spy on her after suspecting that she was being unfaithful.

The investigator said he had followed the woman and her boss to the park.

'On reaching the park, they did not alight from the car. Not long after, the car started to shake violently.

After the car was hit by the van, there was a loud scream from the woman whose mouth was covered with blood,' he said.

The woman later followed her lover to the hospital with part of the sexual organ.

The investigator, who called an ambulance to send the man to hospital, said that this was the first time he had encountered such an incident.

SINGAPORE: A sabotage attempt marred the Aviva Ironman Singapore triathlon on Sunday.

While the cycling leg of the race was going on, some metal tacks were scattered on the road near the Keppel Flyover.

One witness told Channel NewsAsia about 30 to 40 participants had their bike tyres punctured by the tacks and had to drop out of the triathlon as a result.

In response to media queries, event organiser Hi-Tri said it cleared up the metal tacks immediately after being told of the incident.

It said few competitors were affected as the incident occurred near the end of the bike race.

Race director Graeme Hannan said it was a deliberate sabotage attempt and it was a shame that such mischief-makers have marred an otherwise great race.

Will they be termed as "terrorist" in the sports world??

All i know is that those mischief makers prob got their inspiration from this...

SINGAPORE: In a rare incident, Singapore's longstanding icon, the original Merlion statue at the mouth of the Singapore River has been struck by lightning.

One witness told MediaCorp Radio's 938LIVE that orange sparks flew when lightning struck between 4 and 5pm at Merlion Park.

Staff in the vicinity said they heard an explosion followed by a loud thud when broken pieces fell to the ground.

About 30 people dashed into a nearby restaurant for safety.

Other onlookers continued to take photos of the 36-year-old tourism icon.

Hmmm... dear readers, think about it.

How many "good manners" do you practise back in your office? Or rather, the most simple thing... Do you say "good morning" to your colleagues when you reach office in the morning?

I realised one thing.

I had very bad manners back in my office.

Let me start by imagining it to be the morning, when i went to work. There's no good mornings exchanged. I reached office, start my computer and started making some enquries or report or even answer some questions from my boss.

No "good morning".

Sometimes, it's to the extend that my boss has to call me even before i reach office, asking me, "where are you? how come you not in office? you know what's the time now?" No "good morning" from my boss either...

In fact, most of the time, I committed all the "offences" that's deemed as a bad workplace behaviour. I talk loudly, or rather, shouted across the room, especially in the factory, I swear and curse, when things are not going right, I grab my colleague's stationary without using permission. I take calls from my mobile phone. No "good morning" from me, coz by the time i reach office, i think most would not constitute that time as "morning".

I was going on about the asking personal life part, then i stopped.

I don't. I wouldn't. I didn't.

Well, at least, I ain't so bad, right?

But then, if i am to observe all the "rules" of good workplace manners, i think i cannot survive. Too formal.

Everytime need to borrow something, you have to do this, imagine. You go to the pantry, make a cup of coffee, walk over to your colleague, talk to him softly, "Good morning, Mr Tan, can i borrow a blue pen from you please? Anyway, here's a cup of coffee for you... Thanks!!"

Or imagine this, during lunchtime, you went out for lunch with your colleagues. "Mr Tan, it's lunch time. Can i have the pleasure to invite you to join me for lunch today?"

Too formal. To me, too formal can create gaps, which one does not know what the other is doing. And not knowing what others are thinking. No friendship at the workplace, which true friendship to me is as simple as this, in the morning... "Siao eh.... ho sei bo?" Instead of "Good morning Mr Tan. How's your day today?"

Yep. That's S.O thinking. So, what's yours?

Well, thankfully, both of them are in a stable condition.


So, after this incident, i came up with some (stupid) suggestions to prevent the similar things from happening.


1) All guest and public who are attending events or meet-the-people session will be scanned for flammable liquids, lighters and matches. Those found with procession with those will be banned from the events.


2) All Security personnal for the VIPs are to carry a fire extinguisher with them, beside their other standard equipments.


3) All VIPs must wear fire proof clothings when attending events.


4) Open flames are not to be used for shows where VIPs are present.


5) VIPs must travel in a battery operated cars, as petrol is flammable.


6) Caterers cannot use open flames when setting up their food for the events. They only can use electrical heaters, or have cold dishes.


7) SCDF fire fighters and hazmat teams must be on standby at the event whenever the VIPs are around.

Nope... if i wanted to buy a gift to myself, there's absoluting no problem, coz i always know what i wanted.

If it's buying gift for others, i would have spend dunno how many days, weeks, months, years, centuries, cracking my whole body, using up all my brain juice, my muscle, my tendons, my ligaments, my bones, and i will still have no idea what to buy.

And especially when you want to give a gift that gives a hint.

That, is a killer. A real killer.

But then, i realised that our leader does not have the same problem as me. Our country's leaders gifts to other countries leader are always special, something that other countries's leader does not do that.
