A few sayings that came from one of the famous magazine, one that only the business and the wealthy will read, "FORBES"... And the sayings were about the same thing, something which you would not expect in a magazine which always list the top 100 world riches person, or top 100 most powerful person, etc.
1) One thing that previous practice doesn't always make perfect: MARRIAGE (MALCOLM S. FORBES)
2) A girl must marry for love, and keep on marrying until she finds it. (ZSA ZSA GABOR)
3) By taking a second wife he pays the highest compliment to the first, by shewing that she made him so happy as a married man, that he wishes to be so a second time. (SAMUEL JOHNSON)
4) Love, the quest; marriage, the conquest; divorce, the inquest (HELEN ROWLAND)
5) Women hope men will change after marriage but they don't; men hope women won't change but they do. ( BETTINA ARENDT)
6) It takes two to make a marriage a success and onely one a failure. ( HERBERT SAMUEL)
7) Marriage is a wonderful institution, but who wants to live in a institution? (GROUCHO MARX)
8) The room was filled with people who hadn't talk to each other in years, including the bride and groom (DOROTHY PARKER)

MRT Piority seat Saga
Something indeed very interesting is happening in Stomp.
Mum-to-be takes pic of woman in priority seat then..."She curses me and unborn baby"

Initially, for me in person, it's good to hear both sides of the story. Anyway, there are 2 faces to a coin, and to make a fair judgement, it's always good to hear both sides.
And after hearing both sides, well, basically, i couldn't see who's in the right or wrong. Yes, its a shame that sometimes, you give up your seats to those who need it more, only to get a scolding or a scrowl back.
And i would regret giving up seat to them.
Yah. It did happened to me before.
But in this case, well, after reading both stories, i understood what's the whole problem is about, and was about to forget the matter when i started reading the comments.
And to my shock, something shocking happened.
It's not only on the stomp page. It's on 2 forums too.

Odd gifts to US President
I always have a problem of buying gifts.
Nope... if i wanted to buy a gift to myself, there's absoluting no problem, coz i always know what i wanted.
If it's buying gift for others, i would have spend dunno how many days, weeks, months, years, centuries, cracking my whole body, using up all my brain juice, my muscle, my tendons, my ligaments, my bones, and i will still have no idea what to buy.
And especially when you want to give a gift that gives a hint.
That, is a killer. A real killer.
But then, i realised that our leader does not have the same problem as me. Our country's leaders gifts to other countries leader are always special, something that other countries's leader does not do that.
Nope, i am not kidding.

Gifts to U.S. officials include jewels, pillows, Abs Exerciser
December 24, 2008 -- Updated 1835 GMT (0235 HKT)
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/12/23/international.gifts/index.html
The gifts range from the extravagant -- like the jewelry -- to the modest -- a $6 assortment of nuts and dried fruit given by the Dalai Lama to Laura Bush -- to the downright odd, like the Abs Exerciser given to President Bush by the prime minister of Singapore.
===============================================
So, is that a hint of something to US President Bush?
Hmmm... i shall not speculate, but to let you guess...
So, please don't find me funny if i give you any odd gifts.

Crab in mussel
Was slacking at HQ yesterday when EC came. Announced that he's going to Suki sushi to makan, buffet that cost 21++ for lots things, and who wants to go with him?
I had lunch liao, plus a piece of pizza, and i agreed immediately.
So went to Cineleisure suki sushi, 4th level. Came out and saw the queue immediately.
Food wise is okie, remembering that you are paying only 21++ only. But the thing is that you may get unexpected things in your food.
Like this little poor thing that was found in my mussel.

Don't know what that?? show you another picture...

Can see clearly??
Yes.. It's a crab!! In my mussel!!
Don't know if the crab is feeding on the mussel or the mussel is feeding on the crab...
IT's a really tiny crab!!

See it in the mussel shell??
Wow

Interesting space news
An interesting paragraph caught my eyes as i was reading some news on yahoo website.
Nope, that news ain't much interesting, it does not concern me, or the majority of you, i'm sure.
It's about a space mission of the US Space Shuttle, Endeavour, on a extreme home makeover.
Endeavour speeds toward space station
AFP - Saturday, November 15
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20081115/tts-us-space-shuttle-972e412.html
Am i right? Not so much affecting us right? unless you are a space frantic, so much so that you wanna be buried on the moon after you had kicked the bucket.
Don't laugh. It's totally possible, if some crazy ideas does kick off.
US space-funeral company plans to launch lunar cemetery
AFP - Saturday, November 15
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20081115/tts-us-space-business-offbeat-972e412.html
Off topic a bit. Imagine i am the one buried on the moon after i died, and every year, thousands and millions of the people would pray to me, especially during the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calander!! Perhaps, i would also get to meet the pretty Chang'er that floated to the moon!!!
And those who want to visit my grave, well, prob have to travel for days before reaching me.
Not a bad idea, come to think of it...
Okie.. back to topic.
About the home improvement project. As i had mentioned, a paragraph of that news caught my attention... THis is it.
"The astronauts also will be installing a system that can turn urine back into drinking water. The 250-million-dollar upgrade will allow enough recycling for a six-person ISS crew to sharply reduce the amount of water that has to be flown up from Earth."
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20081115/tts-us-space-shuttle-972e412.html
Does it sounds familiar to us, Singaporeans?
The astronauts are going to drink NEWATER!!!
I hope you all enjoy it, like we do!!

Complains by the ferrari team president
OMG!!! what's the world coming to??
I mean, nowadays, winners boast of their wins, and losers whine about their losses, and start to put the blame of their loss on something or someone else...
==============================================
Motor racing-Ferrari head says F1 humiliated by Singapore race
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20080930/tsp-motor-racing-ferrari-montezemolo-81ea673.html
MILAN, Sept 30 - Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has poured scorn on Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix, saying the "circus" track and the use of the safety car had been humiliating for Formula One.
Formula One's first night race drew rave reviews from participants and onlookers, including the sport's delighted supremo Bernie Ecclestone, but was one to forget for the Italian team.
Brazilian title contender Felipe Massa had his race ruined by a bungled pit stop while faltering world champion Kimi Raikkonen crashed near the end.
"When we race on tracks which should be used for the circus, anything can happen including the spectacle of the Safety Car," Montezemolo was quoted as saying in Tuesday's Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.
"All this is humiliating for F1 and it is an aspect I want to talk about with the other teams in the next few weeks."
Singapore saw two safety car interventions, the first of which turned the race upside down and contributed to Spaniard Fernando Alonso's unexpected victory for Renault.
================================================
Oh come on... Ferrari... Losers only whine about their losses, putting the blame on everything else but the faults on your team.
Is this the way of the Ferrari spirit? The one that calls others "circus"? Maybe, i can refer you as the clown, going off with the fuel hose still intact and crashing in the "circus".
I remember DT saying these words. When you lose, don't blame anything else but the skills. It's obvious that the skills are not a match, especially on your own pit stop crew, the blunder which you refused to put the blame on your loss in, and instead, you blame the Singapore track.
It's as if the other teams are not using the same track as yours. It's not as if the other drivers are not facing the same turnings, difficulties as you. If your drivers and team thinks the track is not good, then, you are not good.
This shows that you cannot accept new challenges.
And you whine about the track when you loss, to me, this shows that you are a sore loser.
And when one of your drivers crash, and the other drove off with the fuel hose still inside, to me, this shows that your teams and drivers are not skilled enough.
No wonder you lose. (Shake head)
And prob serves you right.
And i am starting to lose my respect in the clown team.
But then, what's a circus without clowns? It goes hand in hand. A circus without clowns would not be a circus. Meanwhile, a clown without a circus will still be a clown.
I mean, nowadays, winners boast of their wins, and losers whine about their losses, and start to put the blame of their loss on something or someone else...

Shooting arrows
As you know, Singaporeans are famous for "shooting arrows", especially those in the higher up.
So, here's some practice for your to start shooting your own arrows.
Too bad, there's no function to allow the archer to place a jpg file on the opponents, ie, to place one's photo of your "enemy" to shoot him.

Perhaps, it's the participants themselves...
I wonder if you ever noticed... There seems to have much more world records broken in the Olympic Games, and new history set in the world of Olympics

All working people!!! Be AWARE!! It does not matter which industry you are in, it does not matter if you are the boss or the employee, it does not matter if you are a male or female or even shemale. As long as you are not the only single pathetic person in the whole company, then it matters...

SINGAPORE: A study has revealed that one in two employees here have suffered some form of sexual harassment at work. But ask companies where victims can turn to for support and redress, and the answers come back mostly blank.
That is what the Association of Women for Action and Research (Aware) found when they approached workers and businesses separately.
Be AWARE!!!
What strikes me is at the end of the news report, about the statistics of the key findings...
KEY FINDINGS
54 percent of the 500 respondents encountered some form of sexual harassment, of which:
78 percent were women;
19 percent were men
50 percent were harassed verbally, 43 percent physically, 39 percent visually
17.3 percent were harassed by superiors, 26.8 percent by colleagues
13.9 percent felt it affected their performance
12.5 percent were afraid of losing their job
67.4 percent of women harassed by men
28.9 percent of men harassed by women
3.3 percent of women were harassed by women
17.3 percent of men were harassed by men
SOURCE: AWARE
WOW!!! Men sexually harassing other men!!! OMG!! It's going to be definity affecting my work performance!!
And another thing... Men harassed by women... Hmmm... depending on the factors, the situation, the enviroment, and if all those goes my way, hmmm... it might enchance my work performance instead...
Be AWARE!!!

Why clinic refused to sell medication without seeing my son? So money-minded!"

A STOMPer said a clinic refused to sell medication for his son who was having a high fever without seeing him first, even though the same medication had been prescribed by a doctor from another clinic.
He said:
"My son had a 40.4 Celsius fever and when I called up his paediatrician, I was told to give him Veron and Bifen to bring down his fever.
"The paediatrician's advice was to get his fever under control for the night and bring him into the clinic in the morning.
"Because these 2 medication that I keep at home has expired, I was advised to get them from any nearby family clinic.
"As it was raining and my feverish son was still sleeping, I went to a clinic in Woodlands. When I asked to purchase the medications, the clinic assistant said that I have to bring my son to the clinic before any medication can be prescribed.
"When I asked why, the clinic assistant said 'it is our law and regulation.'
"That's it?? She didn't even ASK the doctor knowing that my son is burning at above 40 degrees Celsius.
"Would any parent with a burning kid take that as an answer? Thinking that she probably doesn't have a child of her own, I asked another lady for help.
"The answer I get this time is that if the child has never been prescribed with this medication before from the clinic, they can sell it to me without seeing the child. That means that they have it, but refuse to sell it.
"It was raining, I don't drive and to bring him over to the clinic I have to carry him in the rain and walk 500 metres. Would any parent bring a feverish child out into the rain?
"In the end, I decided to bring him to the hospital instead."I can't help but wonder why clinics are becoming so money minded.
"Despite being told that the advice came from the paediatrician, they still insisted that the child be brought over. Then what?
"Give the same kind of medication just because they have seen the suffering child?
"What if a patient is too weak to go over to the clinic? Doesn't the doctor at the clinic even think of it? I told the clinic that I am not holding them accountable or responsible but that rude clinical assistant started to raise her voice 'our law, our policy, our reputation'.
"WHAT THE?....?? She didn't even wanted to listen when I tried to explained that my son had ever had fits before when his fever was above 40 degrees Celsius. She kept on saying in her raised voice 'our law, our policy, our reputation'.
"For an extra $30 consultation fee that a doctor can earn, a doctor can refuse to sell medication that can help someone who is in need of help.
"The expired medication that I had with me was issued by a competitor clinic at the same location (in fact it's just the next shop) that happened to be closed.
"It doesn't make sense why a clinic cannot issue the same type of medicine that another doctor issued, and was also advised by a paediatrician from a renowned hospital to buy from a family clinic to control the fever.
"Though the situation was explained CLEARLY, the answer is still NO. What does that lead me as a parent to think? 'MONEY MINDED DOCTOR at work'."

OMG!!! I still cannot believe such ppl exist... and you all out there should know who that ppl i am refering to...
Am so very the speechless...
Wake up, you shit-for-brains...
