2010 is here... well, according to my computer time, it's 4 more minutes.

Ironic.. I have not been touching my blog for so long, and here, i am spending the final minutes of 2009 to update my blog.

I got too much free time right now... the stupid mafia wars in facebook need 4.5 minutes just to get a miserable 2 energy and 1 stamina points... The SMS msgs i been trying to sent out just couldn't seems to get out from my mobile to my friend's mobile.

Singtel, starhub and M1 mobile operators must be earning big bucks right now by providing SMS service...

Lucky, there's no internet jam problem...

It's 12 midnight... Right now, i can hear screamings from all around me, shouting "Happy new year!!!", ppl playing sparklers, followed almost immediately with sounds of baby cries. Apparently, the screamings woke up the babies... hahaha...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

How come all the characters in drama serials end up happily and without worries, especially during towards the end of the show??

So, don't try funny stuffs when you see monkeys.. Anyway, as the saying goes, "when you pay peanuts (S$1.8million??), you get monkeys"

Talking about that RTA, i really don't know how to describle that Mr Lim, who is 45 years old, who works as a driver, drove for 24 years, STOP HIS RENTAL CAR AT THE FAST LANE OF A BUSY EXPRESSWAY TO INSERT HIS CASH CARD, that cause a woman biker to crash into another car, flung more than 20 meters, warded in the Intensive Care Unit, spend about a week in the hospital, and now still suffer from pain and memory loss...

And that Mr Lim can left out the reason for stopping the car in his police report, as he knew it's an offence!!!

To make matter worst, is that he still insist that he's not at fault for that accident, and smile several times as he recounted the accident on the stand (Courtroom)!!!

Worst still, Why is he driving a rental car? His car got involved in an accident just 2 days before that RTA that should not happen at all!! He stopped his car, causing another car to crash into him from behind... Really pity that poor fellow who crashed into him...

And when Mr Lim was contacted by The New Paper, he has the guts to question the reporter "Are you a driver? Have you driven a car before?"

The best part? Quoted : Mr Lim said that he felt sorry for the injured Miss Tiong, though he did not speak to her in court.

'She might think that I have an ulterior motive if I went up to her and apologised,' he said

Still need to explain??

I think i only got one word to describle him... "MONKEY" When you see him, don't feed him, or else you can fined up to S$50,000 and jail up to 6 months.. Not worth it, nope, it's simply not worth it at all...

Non 24/7 Seven Eleven store

When i say the word, 7-11, what's your first thinking??

Slurpee?? Big Gulp?? 24 hours convenience store??

Or even perhaps, doraemon magnets??

No matter what, 7-11 has become a part of our lives that we can go for some snacks and drinks when we are hungry in the middle of the night...

Or so i thought...

Imagine my horror when the 7-11 store was closed while waiting for my buddy's wife coach to reach from her trip to Malaysia. It was around 2.30am in the morning, and my buddy wants to buy some drinks...


Found the opening hours of that 7-11 store quite amusing... 7-11... opens from 7am till 11pm...

Thank god it's state 7am to 11pm, and not this....

But still the closure of the 7-11 store puzzles me. I known along that 7-11 are 24 hours convenience store. So, if there's opening hours, it could not be a convenience store at all right?

Sat events part IV, the aftermath

Kinda having deep thoughts after a hectic but fun sat...

Couple of things happened, couple of people cried... All due to different reasons, but the emotions were basically the same.

Can't really describle what had happened on this blog, but i guess, it's a scene that will be hard to forget... Even under a fun and joyous occassion can trigger some emotional flashback and cause people to break down...

But it's good that they can cry it out, and not weigh it down further in the minds until one reaches a breaking point, be it physically, mentally or even physcology... Everyone needs a listening ear, but how many close brothers, buddies one has that can trust or have the patient to listen to one's frustrations and emotions?

I was reading this month's edition of NSman magazine, on a section, that allows you to sign up for a clubbing memberships that allows some benefits to some popular clubs and some people's review on that scheme...

One commented something like this..."it's (the membership) is good, and i got to know more people, and widen my social circle"...

Yes... you get to know more friends, but how many of those "friends" can you trust?

I always believe that really good friends like "brothers" and "buddies" no need a lot. A few will do, those few whom will listen to you, help you, goes thr thick and thin with you, and vice versa...
And i can glad i have quite a few, that can tolerate my stubborness, my temper, my rantings, my kp-ness...

Who needs to socialise when you have those kinda friends?

I am really confused. Very very confused. I might be showing my stupidity, but still i must ask this question out...

But how can foreign workers help create jobs for Singaporeans?

Case example:

"About 15 percent of Makino Asia's 470 employees are foreign workers. Over the years, 30 percent of them have become permanent residents or Singapore citizens."

That is telling me directly that foreign workers in Singapore can increase the net population or the overall citizens in Singapore, but then, how can they help create jobs for Singapore??

Another one...

" "This group of people should not be fearful about losing low-end jobs to foreign workers. They should take the opportunity to acquire more skills and enhance their revenue and livelihood," he said. "

This is telling me that because of the foreign workers in Singapore taking up all the low end job, Singapores should go for upgrading and get BETTER jobs, not create more jobs...

One more....

"Dr Moh Chong Tau, CEO of Makino Asia, said: "I do not agree. In fact, we should be thankful to them for creating more jobs for us... For jobs that are not taken up by Singaporeans, we get foreigners to occupy those vacancies in order to create more jobs." "

He did not explain the how. He just say "thankful to them for creating more jobs for us..." How?? In what way?? I don't see the link. And " we get the foreigners to occupy those vacancies in order to create more job" part bluffs me as well.. HOW??? IN WHAT WAY??

It's been the trend to for companies to CUT JOBS TO SAVE COST, especially at the middle management level, ain't it?

No, i got nothing against foreign workers in Singapore, but the "Title" of the news report puzzles me...

I mean, my simple mathmatics, which i am sure all the kids out there are better than me, can calculate that if there are 1000 jobs avaliable on the market, and 200 goes to the foreign workers, there's only 800 left for Singaporeans, right?

And the report is suggesting that 1000 jobs avaliable, 200 goes to foreign, results in 1100 jobs avaliable for Singaporeans... Some how, it does not work out. Law of Mathmatics.

It's simple right?

So, how does foreign workers help create jobs for Singaporeans? Set up supermarkets in their dormitories? More staff in MOM to process their work permits?

Can anyone care to explain to me how actually does the foreign workers help create jobs for Singapore?

I think the Singapore goverment got the most revenue from transportation, as in from the roads in Singapore, besides the GST.

Why? Let me give you an example...

Let me start off with the COEs, with the data from yesterday's COE bidding results.

Total revenue from Cat A: 2026 (Quotas) X $16,930 (QP) = SGD $34,300,180
Total revenue from Cat B: 1130 X $19,501 = SGD $22,036,130
Total revenue from Cat C: 376 X $18,900 = SGD $7,106,400
Total revenue from Cat D: 448 X $1,012 = SGD $453,376
Total revenue from Cat E: 881 X $19,389 = SGD $17,081,709

Total revenue from COE Apr 1st bidding exercise = SGD $80,977,795

And that's only half a month. One full month revenue means about 160 million revenue for the goverment, and for one year? 1.92 billion!!!

And now, add in the fees you have to pay when getting a new vehicle... RF, ARF, Excise Duty, Road tax....

And now, add in the petrol taxes, your HDB Season parking fees, your parking coupons used...

And not to forget, everyone's favourite topic, the ERP.

Guess how much revenue the Singapore Goverment is getting just from the Singapore Roads?

Zone annual First Aid and Home Nursing Competition (FAHNC) is over...

To those teams that won, Congrads to you!!

To those teams that did not, well, i am sure you had tried your best. Do not be too unhappy, and remember what went wrong, learn from it, and pass it on.

Every year, i dreaded being present at the scene of the competition results announcement. Everyone would be crying. Be it from joy or from anguish or even pissed off with something. And sometimes, it got so bad that i almost thought the whole place would flood with tears, and i can go swimming...

It's even worst when you know the team members from different teams, especially those you had worked with, joked with, and being trained by you...Worst of all, when one won, while the other did not.

When you are in that situation, how would you react? Go to the winning team and congraduate them, and laugh with them, then go to the other team, console them and cry with them?

I dunno about others, but i am unable to be happy one minute and be sad the next.

So, i chose to withdraw. I will not go to either team... Anyway, it's their victory, or anguish, and i am not part of the team. Normally, i will quickly leave the venue immediately after the event is over.

Or in today's case, leave even before the announcement of results. I got one perfect reason to do it. I am not feeling well.

Been coughing the whole day, and especially with those violent coughs that can cough out your lung, i would feel giddy, and as the days progress it got worse. So, i figured that i rather leave early and go home early rather than become a real casualty for all the comp teams to treat.

Am happy for the teams that won, but in another way, am sorry for the other teams that want victory badly and yet unable to get it...

That's so incredible to believe that he is still in Singapore, and that his escape was a sole effort, and he is not receiving any help from others...

I mean, if he is still in Singapore, hiding, without outside help, how the hell is he going to find food, water and shelter? Is there any game for him to hunt? Even our JCC trained soldiers bitch about food, water and shelter after 3 days. What about 13 days?

Does he go up to a food stall to get free food? More likely he got chase by the stall owner with a chopper for eating without paying.

Does he got someone to bring him food? Likely... And if that's the case, who's the someone? Friends? Family members? or another Mr Terrorist?

And a word of warning for you all. How true that saying is. Another incident had happened, that caused me to scold, really scold my colleague.

First time i really scold my colleague. For doing the wrong thing, and forget to do something, and worst, did the wrong thing, do jia liat and without telling me.

I have to ask to get the truth from him, and ended up scolding him...

How come some ppl never learn their lesson?
