Flying a kite

Yeppie!!! Finally flew a kite today!

Flew Anthony's kite, and guess what????

It crashed and the kite's frontbar broke. sob... sob...

Good thing about kite flying, when it crash, most prob is that the frontbar breaks and its very cheap to replace one on the spot if you have spares, rather than crashing a RC plane and change the whole plane body.

My mistake was to allow the kite to fly a bit far, before turning back, and at the distance, i could not see the kite's bearing, its yaw, and i rather make a glided crash landing rather than breaking another frontbar.

But i could free a sense of freedom flying it, even though it needs great concentration for a first-time flyer like me. Need to adjust the speed controller, the height, and the rate of turning. The kite was flying at a low height, and at that height, slight changes in the speed, the ailerons, and i can gurantee a change in the height, and if you are not fast enough, its a crash.

But i still like kite flying.

When can i come out with my own personnal kite? sob... sob...

Elite and uncaring face???

Hmmm... there's a blogger war started, and its so hot and yet i am totally unaware of it. I only knew about it after surfing the talking cock website. How could this be happening?

In case you are not aware, the post below (in red) is post by a lady called Wee Shu-min, 18 year old daughter of MP of AMK GRC Mr Wee. She is currently studying in RJC.

Please, get out of my elite uncaring face.
» singapore elite complement
Wee Shu-min said:

mom's friend sent her some blog post by some bleeding stupid 40-year old singaporean called derek wee (WHY do all the idiots have my surname why?!) whining about how singapore is such an insecure place, how old ppl (ie, 40 and above) fear for their jobs, how the pool of foreign "talent" (dismissively chucked between inverted commas) is really a tsunami that will consume us all (no actually he didn't say that, he probably said Fouren Talern Bery Bad.), how the reason why no one wants kids is that they're a liability in this world of fragile ricebowls, how the government really needs to save us from inevitable doom but they aren't because they are stick-shoved-up-ass elites who have no idea how the world works, yadayadayadayada.

i am inclined - too much, perhaps - to dismiss such people as crackpots. stupid crackpots. the sadder class. too often singaporeans - both the neighborhood poor and the red-taloned socialites - kid themselves into believing that our society, like most others, is compartmentalized by breeding. ridiculous. we are a tyranny of the capable and the clever, and the only other class is the complement.

sad derek attracted more than 50 comments praising him for his poignant views, joining him in a chorus of complaints that climax at the accusation of lack of press freedom because his all-too-true views had been rejected by the straits times forum. while i tend to gripe about how we only have one functioning newspaper too, i think the main reason for its lack of publication was that his incensed diatribe was written in pathetic little scraps that passed off as sentences, with poor spelling and no grammar.derek, derek, derek darling, how can you expect to have an iron ricebowl or a solid future if you cannot spell?

if you're not good enough, life will kick you in the balls. that's just how things go. there's no point in lambasting the government for making our society one that is, i quote, "far too survival of fittest". it's the same everywhere. yes discrimination exists, and it is sad, but most of the time if people would prefer hiring other people over you, it's because they're better. it's so sad when people like old derek lament the kind of world that singapore will be if we make it so uncertain. go be friggin communist, if uncertainty of success offends you so much - you will certainly be poor and miserable. unless you are an arm-twisting commie bully, which, given your whiny middle-class undereducated penchant, i doubt.

then again, it's easy for me to say. my future isn't certain but i guess right now it's a lot brighter than most people's. derek will read this and brand me as an 18-year old elite, one of the sinners who will inherit the country and run his stock to the gutter. go ahead. the world is about winners and losers. it's only sad when people who could be winners are marginalised and oppressed. is dear derek starving? has dear derek been denied an education? has dear derek been forced into child prostitution? has dear derek had his clan massacred by the government?

i should think not. dear derek is one of many wretched, undermotivated, overassuming leeches in our country, and in this world. one of those who would prefer to be unemployed and wax lyrical about how his myriad talents are being abandoned for the foreigner's, instead of earning a decent, stable living as a sales assistant. it's not even about being a road sweeper. these shitbags don't want anything without "manager" and a name card.

please, get out of my elite uncaring face.

What do you think of that post? What Derek Wee post was that he was worried he gets retrench and could not find a job cos of his age, and hopes the goverment can listen to the woes of the ordinary people on employment.

Then again, what does a 18 yr old RJC student knows about the working world? Had she been working outside? What she meant by "those shitbags don't want anything without "manager" and a namecard?" In case you don't know, you can be a manager with a professional looking namecard, but still earns less than 2K a month.

Please. If you had never gone thr' something, please do not comment on it. Coz it will make you look like an stupid idiot. And since you can call other ppl "idiots", then i shall have my rights to call you that also. And not to forget, you also have the same surname as the fellow whom you call a "idiot" too.

Number 3, firearms and a kid

Okie, finally, here i am again...

Went to company dinner and dance on friday night. And guess what is the table number which i was assigned??

Hmmm.... seems i got a fate with the number 3...

The dinner and dance ended quite late. Was super tired when i reached home. Did some stuffs for a while and went to sleep.

Come Sat. Went to Home team acadaemy at Chao Chu Kang. For the purpose of this.

Cool? 3 officers from zone 3 holding 3 Taurus revolvers aiming at 3 different targets. (Is there one in the first place??) Get the picture? 3 again...

First time i had a close-up view, handled and fired the Taurus .38 Revolver, without the laser. On the whole, this is a better firearm than the old S&W .38 revolver that the police used in the past.

Afternoon, went to Mayflower sec for NCO course lesson. Had a great time with my lectures. And soon, its time to dismiss, and i was so tired that i went straight home and sleep straight. First time in quite sometime that i slept for so long.

Come sunday. Back to Mayflower sec. Had a great time too with lessons, and playing the piano at the auditorium. After NCO course, went to Rafi house for dinner on his invitation. Yah, it's Callem's Tham wedding today too, and i did not receive the invitation that he had sent out. Sorry about that.

Anyway, i wish Mr and Mrs Tham a blissful life, forever happiness, and can cuddle a child soon!

Went to IMM with Dennis, Raymond, Rafi, his wife and their youngest kid. And he's real cute!

He likes having friends around to play with him, and he will cry when his friends leave. That's what happen, after i dropped Raymond and Dennis off, he kept quiet, and upon reaching Rafi's place, i noticed that he has been crying. Comforted him.

As i was about to leave, he suddenly came up to me and gave me not one, but 3 hugs. I was a bit shocked, coz, i really din expecct him to do that. I was worried that he may cry again. Promised him that i will go visit him and Rafi when i got free time.

A real cute lovable kid.

Drunk man

Was watching Joshua and Ace flying kite yesterday night when ZX called.

"Simon, come to my gf's house downstairs now. An uncle had a fall, and he is lying down."

"Is he in pain? Any visible injuries? Call for ambulance" i advised.

So, off i went. (its neearby only).

On my way, i called him back. Seems like that fellow is drunk and his wife would not let him into the house, he's sleeping there, no injuries. ZX informed me.

"NB, a drunk case." i exclaimed, but since i was on the way, a few minutes away, i decided to pop by over to be a KPO.

Saw the man lying on the ground, at a downward slope once i reach. My first impression is that the man, an indian, is injured. Even drunks, (he is not that drunk) will find a much better place to sleep on. That area is just so wrong for a fellow to lie down. ZX informed me that they had called the police but not the "white car".

Asked him a couple of questions, and he complained that his back is in pain. He informed me that he had a fall, and could not get up. Asked ZX to call an ambulance immediately.

Did somemore checks and apply a collar to him. (just in case). And that's when the police and the ambulance came. Assist the SCDF ppl, and off they go. That man insist that he don't want to go hospital and he will jump if the SCDF send him there.

Well, from the police, seems like he's an old case. The policemen know him, from his numerous calls to the police, he and his wife are always quarrelling, fighting....

I rest the case.

Started flying

Okie, okie, i know got quite sometime that i had not update my blog... was busy...(really busy lah).

Went down to youth park on monday night, with Joshua, Anthony, Clement and Ace. Aaron and gf join us also. Basically our aim there is to fly kite, me watching the kite. But as the time passes, it change. Clement, Ace and me diverted our attention to the car racers racing around Orchard Road.

Yah. There are really races.

What interest us in watching the races? Its because the police are there. And they are still racing. Woot!!

Saw a TP stopping a WRX STI car, but that car ain't racing.

The 3 of us walk all the way down to Orchard to get a better view, and from where we sat, we could see 2 TP bikes waiting (hidden from view from the road), waiting for the racers to pounce on.

We did not have to wait long.

VROOMMMMMM!!!! A car sped past. Immediately, the bikes spun out and gave chase.

Interesting?? well, the best is in the end.

Back to youth park after watching the racers, we spotted one TP parking behind a illegal parked van, and its a waiting game. Still, we did not have to wait long. We can hear the racers coming, and the TP started putting on his helmet and start his motorbike engine, and started giving signals.

The cars are in the red light. Reving away.

Light turns green. Vroom!!!! the group of cars started racing, cutting lanes, and behind them, are the 2 TPs.

=============================================

I started flying. No, not the real flying. I ain't got a kite yet.

I started flying on a simulator. Using a simulator RC transmitter, connected to my notebook.

Yeah... Its best to start flying on a simulator before flying the real thing. Even for a kite. Now, i knew how to take off, landings, do turns and loops, including inverted flying with the aircraft picture above.

Aircraft in flight. This model is a goddamm easy model to fly, and all beginners have to begin with this, and with camera chasing mode. I can fly (simulation) with fixed camera mode.

This is taken moments before the aircraft crash.. purposely. This aircraft is a damm powerful one, and a damm sensitive one. You can do stunts with it. I still have not really mastered flying this plane with a fixed camera mode. Guess what aircraft is this?

Its the A-6 aircraft. Powered by jet engines. Your fingers must be fast to counter this aircraft. Its super sensitive. First time i flew this plane using simulator, it crash in less than 1o seconds.

Flying RC is not as simple as it seems. Try the simulator than you will know.

Black-out!!!

We had a blackout in office today.

Went to office this morning, on a Monday (not again!!! groan...) and as per normal, unlock the door, stepped into the office and switched on the lights...

Pause. Pause. Pause.........

The interior remain shoud in darkness...

"(Blink Blink...) What the hell happened?" i though aloud.

The machinery is still on. The modem is still on. Could not be a power cut... I switch off and on again... Pause... its still dark.

I can almost imagine Darth Vader lurking around in office, welcoming me into the darkness, with his ever famous words "Welcome the the dark side."

Being the good boy i am, i refused to go over into the dark side.

I closed the door, locked it, to prevent Darth Vader from escaping, went back up to my van to retrive my weapon, a light saber, which to the layman, its call a "torch". A powerful torch, powered by 4 AA batteries, which i can even use it underwater.

I dug out my mobile and called for reinforcements of the "Jedi Knights", the techicans from the building management. Premas United Limited.

Now well-armed, i make my way back to the dark side.

"Fire!!!" and a bright light pierced the darkness, as i opened up DBs, in search of the "Darth Vader," the cause of the darkness. there are 3 DBs in our plant, the 3 possible places where Mr Vader may be hiding.

The first 2 places (more easily accessible) showed no Mr Vader. That left with the last possible place. But i was too short to reach that DB. Fetch a ladder, and placed in position.

I climbed up with tepidation. My light saber at the ready. I look around... all around me is clear. My reinforcements had not arrived. I have to face Mr Vader alone.

Opened the DB door, and i found Mr Vader, in a corner, straight in my light. I had found the cause of the black-out. A switch (3 phase wires) had tripped.

Using my fingers, i flicked Mr Darth Vader out. The cruse had broken! The whole place was brimming with light! I had succeed! Mr Vader had been crushed!

That's when my reinforcements arrived... As per normal in the movies...

Best wishes

Opps. Seems i was so tired that i forgot to do something. After an all night out.

Happy Deepavali and Selemat Hari Raya to all Indians and Malays!!!

Till recently, i did not when is the exact dates for the holidays. Its just i did not remember the dates, even i keep asking someone.

Whole night out

Been a long long time since i spend the whole night out.

Went to HQ in the afternoon for a duty that last till around midnight. Sent some ppl back in Yishun before making my way back to Orchard to meet up with ZX and some of the kite flyers.

Went for my supper (more like lunch to me) and later, go back to cineleisure for a movie.

Watched the movie "The guardian".

The story is about the US Coast Guard, rescue swimmers. The elite of the US Coast Guards. Its about this best rescue swimmer, Randell, who went to become a instructor after some incidents.

He throws himself into teaching, turning the program upside down with his unorthodox training methods. While there, he encounters a young, cocky swim champ, Jake Fischer, who is driven to be the best. During training, Randall helps mold Jake's character, combining his raw talent with the heart and dedication required of a Rescue Swimmer.

A nice movie.

Initially, i had wanted to watch WTC, but due to some reasons, we switched to "The Guardian". After the movie, Ace commented," heng never go watch WTC".

Enough Said.

After movie, sent them back. And by the time i went back to BP with joshua, Ace and ZX, its already light, so bright that i no need to switch on my headlights.

Woah!! been a long long time since i had a whole night out!

Roadblock

I almost went to police lock-up.

Well, almost...

Went to meet Jos, Ant after work. Supposed to meet EC, but i will be late, and on top that EC is not feeling well also, scraped the idea.

Went to riverside point, and end up at JB's newly opened pub around 11am.

Well, just drank a little bit. (1 small bottle of beer) and off we went back to Tiong Bahru to fly kite.

3 plus, and after some crashes (kite), off we went back home.

That's when i encountered a TP roadblock at Steven's Road. Hmmm. First time a roadblock that requires all cars drivers to blow towards a breathalyser test machine.

I was thinking, i just drank leh... just a small bottle, will i kena?

2 cars before me, the driver failed his breathalyser test. He was directed into a stopping the vehicles, where he was "pounced" upon by the men in blue, just like vultures pouncing on a dead body.

The car before me passed the breathalyser test. And the TP waved her on the way.

Next is me. I remember that i was only i tiny weeny bit worried, but i ain nervous. Coz i know most prob i will pass the breathalyser test, given the amount that i dranks about quite sometime ago.

Worried is that this is the first time, and i dun know how sensitive that equipment is.

Its not the old breathalyser test maching. In the old one, you must blow hard into a straw. In the new one, there's ain't a straw, and how it detected, i ain't not sure.

i drove slowly towards the TP. He was not looking at me, but he arms keep waving, i slowed almost to a stop, and his arms keep waving. Then i speed up, passed him and hey persto, we are on our way home instead of going to the police lock-up!!!

The TP did not ask me to stop. He asked me to proceed on, without checking!

Well, the only reason that i can think of such "funny" things is that i am driving a van, not a car. And from what i had observed, all cars kena the breathalyser test, but not those driving a van, or cargo vehicle, hence, i was not stopped.

Some drivers are dumb and smart enough.

Way before the roadblock, at the traffic light, a lorry made a illeagal U turn FROM A NON-RIGHT TURN LANE!!

One look and i can guess that there things ain't right with the driver. Either he's been drinking or he's carrying some illeagal stuff.
==============================================

Last minute activation. I have been recalled to perform duties. Last minute again.

Haiz~

So, i shall stop here.

d[$_$]p

Read some news on a website, that some tais tais overseas are earning up to US$2,000 monthly from their blogs. Even Kenny Sia, www.kennysia.com is earning money from his blog.

I have yet to see my very first cent earned from this blog.

Okie, okie, you may say i am ( d[$_$]p ) (money faced), but its at this time of the year that i really welcomes some extra cash.

My van's insurance and Road tax are coming. And its not very cheap either, (though it is a lot more cheaper than driving a car).

Vehicle inspection notice just came in.

Also, i am gotten into kite flying. Am saving up for my first RC kite too.

Not to forget, am planning to purchase a new radio set.

Finally, need to replace the radio in my van. Am been driving in silence, and you all know, i cannot live without music and that silence can kill.

Woot!

Seems like i had gotten myself into a lot of heavily finanical dependent ventures and projects. And my pay ain't that high, as contary to what some ppl think, to support all those.

Let me see..... hmmmm....

Well, perhaps i should start praying to the god of wealth and start buying 4D, TOTO and Big Sweep.

Perhaps, i should pay more attention to the licence plates of accident vehicles rather than the casualty. Imagine this:"errr, excuse me, Mr Casualty, I need to take down the number plate of your vehicle first before i can render any first aid to you".

Perhaps, i set up a company, and issue an invoice to all casualties which i had treated, for services provided, with / without the patient's consent.

Perhaps, i can install a taxi meter in my van, and i become a part time cargo deliveryman or even a taxi, charges accordingly to the meter.

Perhaps, i can go JB in tattered clothings and beg.

Perhaps, i go cut grass in Lim Chu Kang, dried them, chop them up and sell as tobacco. (Sounds familiar to ZX, Joshua, AF and Ant.F?

Perhaps i will sleep more and try to dream of 4 numbers.

Or perhaps, i should stop day dreaming and continue to work hard and scrimp and save in whatever way i can?

Hmmmm... Which method is better?

Seems like the last option... hmmm...

Reckless driving

Just got another confirmation that cabs are still the most reckless drivers on Singapore Roads.

Saw a cab this morning that was appreantly in a rush. And you know the status of the morning hours. Even at 10 plus am, its still quite heavy.

And so, what did the cab do?

It started to veer onto the Road shoulder, trying to overtake a lorry on the left-most lane of a 4 land highway. 3/4 of the cab was on the road shoulder. And it remained there for almost an kilometer. And it was tailgating that lorry also.

Yep. So, what if there's a breakdown vehicle on the road shoulder? The cab driver will not see in time, his view being obsured by the lorry in front. And what happens if that really happens? RTA.

And what happens if that unfortunate broke happens to be changing tyre on the right side of the vehicle? especially the rear tyre? That's it... A P0 case, while the cab driver only goes to jail for reckless driving.

And at a traffic-light, the same cab did this.

The lights are not in our favour yet.

Technically speaking, correct me if i am wrong, if my memory did not fail me, that cab has beat the red light. His rear wheels has crossed over the first white line at the traffic light junction. If there's a red light camera that is activated, that's it. Beat red light.

But one thing that i must write is that not all cab drivers are like the one above. Some of them are very polite and will wave their thanks to you when you give way to them.

So, the moral of this post is not to let the reckless cab drivers know about such thing, but to let other drivers and motorist, and those to-be, to be aware of such tactics that the cabs can use and be more cautious when there's appear to have a reckless cab around you.

And yes, i know i will get into some trouble, but i am sure my buddies will back me up on this.

Also beware of the second most dangerous drivers.... Lady drivers!!! (not all though).

Drug Allergies

A question again to you. If a doctor never ask you if you are allergy to any medication, and he gave you an jab, and so it happens that jab contains something that you are allergic to, and you develops swelling, what would you do?

That's what happen to William yesterday night.

He went to a certain hospital for some pains, and the doctor gave him a jab, without asking if he has any allergies, and at night, william developed some swelling around the eyes.

He happened to know that the the doctor has prescrible some medication that he is allergy to.

I drove him back to that hospital with ZX, where william undergo some medication, 3 led ECG hookup, SPO2 hook-up and placed under observation.

In the end, he has to pay $112 for all those, after his company has subsidised $50.

Stupid ain't it?

As what William has said, if the doctors everytime give medications without asking for allergies, and the patient develops allergies to it, and come back for a few hours observation, and pay $100 plus, that hospital will be freaking rich.

If its really the doctor's fault, and we report to SMC, that doctor could lose his practising license, and the reputation of that hospital will be affected. And everyone around him, even his company is asking him to persue the matter.

God bless that doctor and that hospital.

On the way home from the carpark, saw some punks lighting up lots candles in the badminton court downstairs below my block.

But once i go up my block, all i can see are these...

So, that's the reason for lighting up the candles. Hmmm... i wonder whose that message intended for?

Pretty neat too, i would say, especially the heart shape.

Hope that whoever that msg is intended for, that fellow can get the msg.

Haze (Part 2) and North Korea Nuclear testing

Its becoming a hot topic.

Yes, the haze. Everyone, including me wants to know the PSI index. And i ain't talking about pressure (Pounds per Square Inch). I am talking about the pollution index of the air.

I managed to download the latest satellite photos of the hotspots of Sumatra and Kalimatan, Indonesia, thanks to the NEA website.

This (above) is the satellite picture of the hot spots in Sumatra, (in red dots).

And the above is the picture of the hot spots in kalimatan. There are a lot more hotspots there.

A diagram of the spread of the haze over affecting countries.

Its a large area. And Singapore is smack right in the middle of it...

N. Korea Nuclear Test.

As you all know, North Korea has recently done a nuclear test. But what really interest me is the series of earthquakes in the region that has been reported.

Seems like the rate has increased. For the 1 week period.

Are all those earthquakes related to the North Korea Nuclear Test? Prob.

Interesting to note that Friday the 13th, has no reported quakes.

Piority

Let me ask you a question.

Imagine a situation where by you are helping out as a volunteer at a dinner event, and one of your relative with a medical condition, past spinal injury and has much difficulty in walking is also there, which one come first? Which is your piority?

Take a minute to ponder over the paragraph above.

Yes. You may have guessed that this is what i had encountered. JH, EC, EG and me went for a duty (a dinner celebrations) today, with uncle Tiu. DC and Eric Chong was there as well.

Nothing much happened till the dispersal time after the dinner.

You know, Singaporeans. Once dispersal time, all will make a beeline rush to the exits. That's where JH commented that we need to go outside to monitor the situation.

On my way out, i noticed that there's a middle - elderly aged man, walking veryyyyyy veryyyyy slowly. His walking was a bit unstable. I stopped in my tracks. Watched him walking for a while before deciding to approach him to ask if he was well.

He replied that he had an old spinal injury, went for an operation before, his legs were of different height and was twisted at an odd angle. That's why he has to strumble along when he was walking.

Saw him almost strumble backwards, and that's when i decided him to escort him to wherever he is going.

Asked him if he's along or with family.

He had came with his family, but he does not know where the hell they are. Later, he revealed that his family member(s) is/are helping out with this event, and might be busy at the moment.

That got me thinking, as i was driving back home.

Where the hell are his family members, when he needed them? Is that event that important that they can leave him along to walk all the way out to the carpark, where the car is being parked? Which one is of higher piority? The helping out or the family member?

If i am that "family member", in that case, my family member come first. There are numerous volunteers over at that event, and there's no one to care for my family member.

Anyway, realised that he was very independent. He keeps assuring us that he is okie and can walk to the car alone. But i ain't assured that he is able to do it. There's a couple of time he almost fell, and we had to help him climb up or down the kerb. We even have to do some traffic control in the carpark so that he can cross over safety.

In the end, he keeps thanking us non-stop, and all i can tell him is " We are from ST JOHN AMBULANCE, and its our duty."

A blurred and senseless post.

Not much inspiration to blog lately.

Maybe, i was "switched off" to daily events, not noticing them, not knowing their significant meanings, so, in other words, i was living like a zombie for the past few days.

Nothing much happened... Michelle's ROM was yesterday. Congrads to her ROM!!! Became a wife liao. Status changed.

A war had started within one of my organisation. Will not reveal what happened, till i wait for the results. Decided to keep my silence on the matter. No need me to say anything. All those who knows what i am talking about will know the whole thing, and i hope that someone will have to pay for it. It has been overdued for a long long time.

Oh yah, i think i saw a old poly classmate of mine today. She seems like finding me familiar, and of course, i find her familiar too. But in the end, we kinda just ignore each other and enjoyed our supper respectively.

Haze.

The problem persist, with no signs of improving. So what if the Indonesian goverment has apologised? Are they really making an effort to enforce the law? I see no improvement.

It's maybe of the haze that i am feeling so "un-inspiration" to write anything. Everything has passed by in the smoke of the haze. My reaction this morning when i woke up and looked out of the window was "@#&$^@#*!!!! Cannot see Bukit Timah Hill again!!!"

So much so that i suddenly thought of a poem. (Don't laugh, I ain't a English Lit student last time)

The arrival of the haze,
Has left us in a daze.
Off to a doctor we see,
Just to get a MC.

Let us pray for some rain,
To ease us from this pain,
Coz there's nothing to be gained,
If we just sit there and complain.

I know its kinda lame,
to think of all these "games".
But we can sleep better at night,
when we can do things right.

A special day today

Its 13th Oct 2006, Friday.

Sounds familiar? Its Friday the 13th.... A horrific night...

Hey!!! where does the meaning come from?? who started Friday the 13th thingy?? what's the story behind it? Anyone knows? Can tell me?

So tonight, am i expecting ghost or monstors?? i hope can see small monstors small enough to put into my pocket, and i shall call them pokemon.

Anyway, that fellow must be damm bias against Friday and the number 13...

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to
heaven.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.

Life is a gift, Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And fulfill it.

Some of you may find the wordings in red familiar.

Yes, i had received them in an E mail from JB. The messages comes below a story about a blind girl who wish to see and marry her bf when she can see. She hate herself and hate all (besides her bf) that she cannot see

So, one day, luck came and she got a pair of donated eyes.

Then she realised that her bf was blind also, and she left him.

Her bf left and wrote her a letter...

"Please take good care of my eyes, dear"

Woah!!! SALUTE TO THAT GUY!!!

He actually donated his eyes to a girl he loved dearly! I am impressed.. In real life, would you really donate your eyes to your loved ones? Both, mind you, not one.

Uniquely Singapore

There's something funny about being a Singaporeans.

Wait, let me tell you the story from the beginning.

Went for some duties, its a buddhist organisation celebrating 25 years, and they had invited the 17th kamapa, from Tibet, for some prayers session.

The crowd was huge. There's a few prayer sessions all the way till Friday (tomorrow evening), followed by a dinner on Sunday.

You can see the followers from all over the world, including Ang Mors. They came even as far as from Europe and US. There are a lot of Singaporeans too. Much respect was given to the monks and the organising committee.

When the monks arrived, the crowds clasp their hands and bow. Its the same thing during the prayer process. And again, the same things happen during the monks' departure.

But once the monks departed, the ugly side of Singaporeans begin to show.

There was a mad frantic rush to the exit. As if the building was on fire and all are rushing to get out.

The road is very narrow. And you can see cars blocking the traffic, picking up the devotees.

And the vehicles behind start honking. Blasting.

And the ppl start to jaywalk across the road. There's almost an RTA incident when i was there yesterday night.

Typical Kiasu Singaporeans. But, this is the unique point of Singapore. The manners of Singaporeans.

Greed

All humans have a great flaw. Especially to the few idiots out there which i am sure you all can name with ease.

Greed.

The desire to process something which you are not in procession of. The desire to get more things when you had enough of it, and the desire to get things at a less price to pay for.

Let me focus on the third point of the paragraph above.

Let's say, you desire to have an item that is very good. But as you know, good things ain't come cheap. But if you happen to know the manufacturer of that item, what would you do?

Of course. you will ask that manufacturer (in a polite and nice) tone, if are they selling at a cheaper price, if your face is thick enough.

How how much cheaper? i guess that you would be very happy if you manage to get a 10% discount. You would be over the moon if you manage a 15% or even 20%.

Some people will not even open their mouth to ask if there's any discounts, if the manufacturer is keeping quiet about it.

One thing that i know is that selling goods at a discounts are a very sensitive matter. It is as sensitive as money itself. Especially if you are just a goddamm employee of the company. Even if you are the boss, how would you determine who gets the discounts, and how much is the discounts? Is there any guide?

One major factor to consider is that, if you start selling at a discount to your friends, they will expect the same or better discounts when they re-purchase from you again. If if the cost of productions went up? How would you tell your friends there you are going to reduce the percentage of discounts?

Bringing all those into considerations, i had come up with some guide, and all along, i had operated on this guidelines, till some asshole (all the assholes i mentioned in this post is not the write himself. That asshole is more asshole than the writer) forced me to change.

Yep. Some assholes had provoked me into writing this post. That asshole whom i am not even close to. All i know was his name, and hell, i ain't revealing his name in here. That asshole is just an plain old stubborn stupid asshole anyway.

Its that asshole that want us to sell at a third of the price. A discount of over 60%!!!

Is it because of his desire to get something at a lesser price? At our goddamm expense? So, in the end, our profits got less, and that asshole will mention about our working efficiency and our performance?

So, no matter what way i turn, i will get shot. Guess i have to live with that, but i ain't going to sit there to let you bully the company. I am bidding my time. My chance will come. You just wait.

As what "terminator" says, "I'll be back" only at that time, i will come back with more teeth, and it will your turn with no where to run.

Laws of business.

Stupid things (part II)

Okie... i mentioned some stupid things i had done eariler (02 Oct post), which i had promised to tell you all about it.

Here goes.

On that fateful night, i was walking home from the carpark after meeting my supper gang kakis, when i almost strumble over something. That floor area was quite dark, being shoud in the shadows.

I took a closer look. That "thing" moved. I bend down for a closer look, and to my surprised, its a bird. A mynah. It appears to be injured, unable to fly. I picked it up. It struggled a bit, and then it stay still, resting comfortably in my hands.

Gave that mynah an closer inspection. The feathers were wet, ruffled. Then i saw a cat glaring at me, or rather, at the bird in my hand. That's when i made a decision to bring the bird back home.

Once at home, i placed the bird in a shoe box, wrapped it around with a rag to keep it warmed. Then i fed it with some biscuits soaked water, and then i allowed the mynah to rest for the night.

Then it hit me.

Damm... H5N1 virus!!!

I had forgotten about the looming threat. Quickly wash my hands. Still not feeling at ease. Went to the goverment birdflu website to search for information on it. Singapore is still bird flu free, but still, i got concerns that i might be so suay that the mynah is infected with the deadly virus.

Instantly got the thought to release the bird immediately downstairs, but the image of the hunger stare of the wild cat flashes in my head.

"Arghhh... forget it... i shall release the bird tomorrow morning when i go to work."

So, it's bed time.

Next morning, took a look at that mynah. It seems healthy. The feathers had dried, and then i realised that the bird was a bit small sized.

Took the whole shoe box downstairs, and at the carpark, took a good look around for any hungry stalking cats before i open the box.

The mynah took a dazed looked before half-jump and half-fly out. That's when i realised that the bird might be in the process of learning how to fly, but does not have the strenght to do it.

So, till now, i am still unsure if that bird got the virus or not, but 8 days had passed, a incubation period of the bird flu, and apprently, i am still alive and kicking, and still healthy.

So, i may not have the chance to be a patient at TTSH / CDC after all!!

Cheers!!
